Coatings developed for HVAC Protection
Blygold are innovators. In our own laboratory, we’ve developed coatings specifically for HVAC Protection.
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection – not every company does this…

Issue:
Heat exchangers often endure severe corrosion due to their construction, typically involving the combination of incompatible metals and exposure to polluted air. Such corrosion and pollution directly impact the performance of air conditioning systems. It’s essential to seal off heat exchangers from the environment without compromising heat transferability or causing a pressure drop. Achieving this ensures that cooling capacity remains intact and energy consumption remains manageable.
Rationale for Using PoluAl XT:
– Regulating cooling capacity and energy consumption.
– Prolonging the lifespan of heat exchangers.
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection:
Blygold’s PoluAl XT coating offers long-lasting corrosion protection for heat exchangers while maintaining heat transferability and avoiding pressure drops. This system is applicable in both factory and on-site settings.
The heat-conductive pigmentation within the coating enhances chemical resistance at a minimal layer thickness, when combined with the unique application methods of certified Blygold applicators. PoluAl XT stands as the optimal solution to prevent air conditioning failures and unnecessary energy consumption.

Issue:
Fuel combustion and other production processes often lead to the emission of high-temperature gases. These gases not only pollute the environment with their chemical composition but also contribute to thermal pollution. To mitigate excessive energy loss through chimney pipes, these gases need to be cooled. Achieving this requires the use of heat regaining systems capable of operating in harsh conditions. Given the elevated levels of temperature, humidity, and aggressive chemical concentrations, corrosion can quickly manifest on most metals. Sulphur and nitrogen are the primary compounds responsible for initiating and accelerating corrosion damage.
Rationale for Using PoluAl High Temp:
– Preventing corrosion at temperatures up to 550°C (1022°F).
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection:
Blygold PoluAl High Temp is a heat-conducting, corrosion-prohibitive coating designed to shield metals from rapid deterioration in extreme conditions and withstand temperatures of up to 550°C (1022°F). This coating effectively prevents capacity loss and premature deterioration of heat exchangers. Moreover, it can be applied to steel, aluminium, zinc, and stainless steel (with special treatment).

Issue:
The Micro Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHE) offers the advantage of being constructed solely from aluminium. This characteristic renders it less susceptible to galvanic corrosion, a common issue with traditional RTPF coils.
Moreover, MCHE coils not only present the aforementioned benefits but also pose additional challenges. In corrosive environments, both the fins and aluminium tubes are at risk due to pitting corrosion, salt accumulation, and water drainage issues.
Rationale for Using PoluAl MC:
– Application of a thin coat effectively seals vulnerable tubes from the environment.
– Enhances water drainage.
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection:
Blygold PoluAl MC presents as a flexible coating capable of withstanding fin bending without risk of cracking or delaminating, even after undergoing thermal cycle testing. Additionally, this coating’s flexibility allows flat micro channel coils to be bent post-application.

Issue:
Heat exchangers encounter severe corrosion due to their construction, typically involving the combination of incompatible metals, and the passage of polluted air through them. Such corrosion and pollution directly impact the performance of air conditioning systems. It’s crucial to seal off heat exchangers from the environment in a manner that maintains their heat transferability and avoids pressure drops. Achieving this ensures that cooling capacity remains intact and energy consumption stays manageable.
Rationale for Using Tropic:
– Sustaining cooling capacity
– Regulating energy consumption
– Prolonging the lifespan of the heat exchanger
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection:
Blygold Tropic, a wax-based product, offers robust corrosion protection for aluminium. Its flexibility and adhesion properties render it suitable for both on-site and factory applications. Furthermore, a special polymer creates a repellent surface that minimizes pollution adhesion. Air conditioners treated with Blygold Tropic, in conjunction with a Blygold maintenance program, have maintained operational efficiency for many years without experiencing capacity loss or high-pressure failures.
Issue:
Cooling equipment poses hygienic challenges, particularly concerning the cooling coil, often an overlooked source of contamination. Bacteria, yeast, and molds thrive on the heat exchanger surface when these units and their condensation outlets remain uncleaned and undischarged.
Failure to treat and subsequently clean and disinfect these surfaces can lead to persistent infection sources. The forced ventilation of contaminated air presents a significant risk in various settings, including the food industry, hospitals, care centers, and offices, ranging from unpleasant odors to food contamination.
Rationale for Using PoluAL XT MB:
– Prevention of hygienic issues with cooling equipment
– Corrosion protection
Coatings developed for HVAC Protection:
Blygold PoluAl XT MB, a corrosion-resistant coating, is specifically designed for heat exchanger surfaces in hygienically sensitive environments. By enhancing cooled air quality, PoluAl XT MB mitigates unpleasant odors and minimizes pollution adhesion. Consequently, the need for cleaning and disinfecting is reduced, eliminating the requirement for aggressive chemicals. To maintain the optimal condition of heat exchangers treated with Blygold PoluAl XT MB, disinfection using Blygold DEC is recommended.
